This “Fast Forward Friday” we take a sneak peek at various new systems and changes coming with our INVASION update on November 5, 2014.

Flight Bind Points

As part of a few quality of life changes in the upcoming update, players can now teleport to a bind point in certain zones by clicking on the icon on the map. These bind points are located at key locations throughout a zone. You must first discover the area and path before you are able to use the bind point to teleport there. You cannot teleport to another zone, only within the zone. The bind point has a 10 minute cool down but can be used in conjunction with scrolls and the Return skill.

Equipment Purification

As new threats emerge, technology has been developed to combat the Balaur and rival faction. Certain equipment sets can be purified by the Equipment Purifier NPC. Purifying a weapon or a piece of armor requires materials that can be crafted or gathered from the world. When you purify your equipment, you add additional bonuses to the armor stats without any effects to already socketed manastones, godstones. Only certain equipment enchanted to a certain level is eligible, and the piece will lose five levels of enchantment upon purification that can be re-enchanted later.

Godstones Rework

Players will no longer need to visit an NPC to socket a Godstone. You can soon socket your own Godstones, and, to replace a Godstone, you simply socket another on top of it. Since the Godstone NPCs no longer have steady employment in game, they have chosen to retire early.

Illusion Godstones will also be available for purchase for Officer-rank and above. While similar to regular Godstones, these purchasable ones have a chance to be destroyed when in use. When the destruction of the item has been triggered, you will receive a notification indicating the Godstone will become ineffective after 10 minutes.

Beritra’s Invasion Bosses

Beritra Special Forces continued their research on Ide after discovering its power in the Danuar weapon, Hyperion. With ancient designs and parts from the Sauro Supply Base, Beritra was able to create his own Ide-powered weapons to prepare for his invasion.

These creatures are world bosses and will require great efforts from Daevas to defeat them.

Gelkmaros and Inggison

Gelkmaros and Inggison will have new quests for level 65 players, and the zone’s fortresses will be upgraded to level 65. Siege rewards now include Ceramium Medals.

Siege Blessing

A special siege blessing will be applied during sieges in the Abyss, Katalam, and Danaria for those participating in the siege. The blessing will be for the faction at a disadvantage.

The INVASION is coming. Asmodian and Elyos armies, both bolstered by the additions of the Aethertech class, have continued their battle against each other and the Balaur forces. But now, Beritra has marshalled his forces and renews his attempts at conquest. Meanwhile, new lands have been discovered and new opportunities lie in wait for those Daevas courageous and capable enough to rise to new challenges.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve shown you some of what will be coming with this new content update, including:

Panesterra was once part of Balaurea, ruled by the ancient Danuar. After a mysterious explosion of Ide in Kaldor, Panesterra was forced into another dimension. Continued Ide experiments in this new zone only brought further destruction across the land, this desolation revealed in its jagged cliffs and precarious bases.

Soon after its rediscovery, Beritra’s Special Forces have claimed Panesterra as their territory. They’ve taken advantage of its seemingly endless Ide resources, finally developing successful dimensional teleportation technology. At long last, Beritra is ready to  launch his assault on Atreia. Daevas are called into battle to drive out Beritra’s forces and prevent the opposing faction from gaining the upper hand—it is a relentless, all-hands-on-deck battle for dominance.

Panesterra is the ultimate siege, where 100 players from each server and faction will be pitted against each other. Nobody is your ally except your server’s faction. Claim victory for your server faction and together you will all bask in all the glory this exciting new zone has to offer.

Live Beta Period

While testing for accuracy of the siege capabilities and functions, the first weeks of the siege will be considered a beta test.  The first siege will be available on Sunday, November 9, after the update launch, and subsequently on Sundays. We will be using this period to collect feedback and make any adjustments deemed necessary. Because it is a beta test, participants can expect some issues, but we will do our best in resolving them quickly.

During the first few weeks, only sieging will be available. Over the course of the testing, we will open additional aspects of Panesterra, such as allowing exploration of the zone/fortress for the victorious server faction and, ultimately, the Ahserion Fortress siege, which will only be available to members of the four server factions who have conquered the Panesterra zones.

First Siege: Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 7 PM Server Time – Siege Only

Requirements

The top 1000 players (1-Star Officer and above) of the server faction can apply for the Panesterra Siege when it opens. Only 100 players from each server and faction will be able to participate.

Participation

To participate in the Panesterra Siege, you can apply by speaking with the Panesterra NPC in the Hall of Fame for Asmodians and Walk of Fame for Elyos. Remember space is limited to 100 players per faction per server.

When the siege starts, each server faction will be placed across four Panesterra zones. Two server factions will be placed on each zone to face off and conquer the vulnerable fortress. The pairing of each server faction will be random.

Rewards

Siege Rewards will be available during the testing. We will also have special surveys for participants of the siege and a survey for the each conquering server faction.

Feedback

In-game surveys may be dispatched during the beta period to collect your feedback on the siege contents and service. Please fill them out as accurately as you can and we can consider your feedback for potential adjustments.

Remember, the Panesterra sieges function is in the beta phase and is subject to imperfections. Changes to the siege content may be made in order to improve players’ enjoyment of this new addition.

In the upcoming INVASION update, we are overhauling the lockbox system.  For starters, we will be retiring the Combat, Wealth and Enchantment Lockboxes and introducing a completely new set of lockboxes with some exciting changes. These new Lockboxes will  be the Utility, Power and Fortune Lockboxes. While they share some similar characteristics with their predecessors, they offer additional new features!

Rewards

The new lockboxes feature an entirely new reward list! This doesn’t mean minor adjustments to the previous boxes but in fact a complete overhaul of rewards. There are new items exclusive to the lockboxes, such as a permanent Lustrous Skymane mount, Sidekick Akumu Summoning Lamp, Timeless equipment boxes, as well as other desirable items like Tempering Solutions and Courier Passes.

Lockbox Keys

The Lockbox keys work slightly differently now. On top of the rewards in the lockbox, there is a chance for you to get your key back when you open the lockbox in addition to your normal reward. That’s double the rewards with just one key!

We’re also changing the way keys are made available on the Black Cloud Marketplace. Instead of purchasing different keys depending on what is dropping in the game, you will instead be able to purchase a lockbox key pouch and select the key you want when opening it. That way, you can keep your key in the bundle until you find the box you want to open with it. Just make sure you pick the right key!

And one of the biggest changes we’ve made is the price! Lockbox keys are now cheaper, at just 199 NCoin per key pouch. So you’ve got a chance at better rewards at a lower price. But that’s not all. For those of you who like to stock up on keys, we’ve put together bundles of 5 and 10 key pouches that will save you even more money! Be sure to visit the BCM on November 5 and check them out.

Q: TL;DR , what makes these new Lockboxes better?

The Utility, Power and Fortune Lockboxes have brand new prize lists with keys at a new low price. Upon opening one of the new Lockboxes, there is also a chance to get your key back to claim rewards in another Lockbox. 

Q: I still have the old Lockbox Keys. What will happen to these keys?

After the INVASION update on November 5, 2014 your old lockbox keys will automatically switch over to the new keys according to the chart.

Q: Why do I have a Utility Lockbox Key, Fortune Lockbox Key or Power Lockbox Key?

If you had any of the former Lockbox Keys in 4.5, these have been automatically changed to the new keys. You can still use these keys to get great rewards from lockboxes that drop in Atreia!

Q: I opened a lockbox but I still have my key. Did I do something wrong?

Don’t worry, you just had good luck. When you open a lockbox you will now have a chance to get the key you used back. You will still get the normal reward from the list, but you can now use that key to open another box.

Q: I have the old Lockbox keys. Can I petition to Support to pick the new Lockbox keys I want?

The keys will automatically change over to the new ones as mentioned below and we will not be taking any requests for replacing keys.

Q: What if I want the rewards in the old Lockbox?

The Wealth Lockbox will be available until maintenance on November 5, so please use your keys before the maintenance if you are interested in rewards specific to that box. If you have Combat or Enchantment Lockbox Keys, you will not be able to use them due to the respective Lockbox unavailability but you will receive new keys that can be used for future lockbox rotations.

Q: What should I do if I want more lockboxes?

While we've adjusted the lockboxes drop rate, it will continue to drop in nearly all zones available to Daevas. The Steel Rose instances will feature a slightly higher drop rate, so consider running any version of these instances if you want additional chances at awesome rewards.

 

Q: What items are in the new boxes?

Item lists will always be available on the store page for the Lockbox Key Pouch, with rewards for the currently available lockbox shown.

The first new lockbox going into rotation will be the Utility Lockbox. More information on the Utility Lockbox will be available on November 5, 2014.
 

Now that INVASION is here, we’ve put together a few items that may come handy in exploring the new zones and instances. From gear enchantment items to stylish costumes, there is truly something for everyone.

Castellan Bundles

Opening the Castellan Box gives you one random item, namely for gear enhancement. Many of the items are not available in the store. Pick up just the box or the bundles with Felicitous Socketing or the Castellan Gift Box.

Vindachinerk's Fine Combination Tool

Do you have a stock pile of random Enchatment Stones? Use Vindachinerk’s Fine Combination Tool to combine them for an even higher level stone. Check out the bundles with Supplements to get your gear to +15.

Lockbox Key Pouch

The Utility Lockbox is the first and newest lockbox in our Lockbox improvement. At a new low price, choose the Utility Lockbox Key to open the new Lockbox. Discounted Key Pouch bundles are also available.

New Pets

We have three new pets, two with completely new functionalities! Kennercan will pick up your loot at your command and you can even sell him your unwanted items. Pinkybell will boost your stats for a limited time but only when fed Aether Cherries, and Sidekick Akumu is the newest edition to the sidekick family. This evil-looking sidekick will alert you to nearby enemies, use food and drink items, and use up to five scroll items.

New Costumes

Just because Beritra is trying to take over Atreia, it doesn't mean you can't look good while fending off his invasion.

Idgel Dome and Linkgate Foundry are the two newest instances in our INVASION update. Use the bonus entry scrolls for additional runs.

The INVASION Has Begun!

In the aftermath of the Dragon Lord Tiamat’s defeat, a new evil has taken the reins of power. Beritra has found a way to harness Ide through new dimensional technology, allowing his forces to bypass the protective Aetheric Field and launch attacks into the heart of Atreia. As a result, the Elyos and Asmodian forces must push into the newly discovered war fronts of Kaldor and Levinshor to find the source of this invasion. It is up to the players to gain the upper hand in these zones if they are to claim Panesterra and snuff out Beritra’s foothold in Atreia once and for all.

We have identified an issue with the Shugo Kingdom Adventure event and we must temporarily suspend the event until it is addressed. We are actively investigating the issue and we will provide additional updates on Twitter when we can.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. We know many of you are excited about the event and we will let you know when it is available again.

Amidst unrelenting player-versus-player battles in Panesterra, we enter the third week of the live beta siege tests. If you aren't familar with Panesterra, you can read all about it in our first announcement here. Currently in Panesterra, war has broken out for the dominance of the lands. Each server faction is pitted against another server faction randomly across four zones. For week three, we will be rolling out participation rewards! There will be rewards for all siege participants, and victorious factions will receive bonus rewards for their entire server!

Third Siege Beta – Sunday, November 23

Per usual, entrance to the siege for both offense or defense will be on a first come first serve basis in the Hall/Walk of Fame for 1-Star Officers and higher. Beta participation rewards will be available after the Wednesday’s maintenance following the siege. Rewards will be delivered via in-game mail.

This week’s rewards include:

• (1)    Ceramium Medal
• (1)    [Event] Major Crown Bundle
• (1)    Noble Ancient Manastone Bundle

If you’ve participated in the first two siege betas, we’ll also be rewarding you for your participation. Participants will be getting additional Ceramium Medals and [Event] Major Crown Bundles as well as the following bonus reward:

Week One participants will receive (1) Composite Manastone Pouch.
Week Two participants will receive (1) Large Greater Supplements Bag (Mythic).

Fourth Siege Beta - Sunday, November 30

The bonus reward for this siege is Farushunerk's Bonus Bundle. The fourth siege is the final siege for the first beta period. We'll be taking a short break to implement adjustments and changes to roll into the second beta phase that opens up additional content tied to Panesterra.

• What do the base Artifacts do? How do we use them?
• Each base has two artifacts under the protection of two guardians. Take down the guardians and the artifact is yours. These particular artifacts do not require any stones for activation. After claiming the artifact, it will take a few moments to charge. These artifacts are powerful but their use is limited.
•  
• The Artifacts are:
• Mirage Dance - Deals continual damage inside the fortress
• Chaos Wind - Deals damage around the fortress and reduces flight time.
•  
• By using these powerful artifacts you can impact the outcome of the siege. Once activated, the artifacts cannot be used again for a while so timing their usage will be important.

• Can we use other artifacts in the area?
• The only artifacts available to you and your faction are the ones near the base you spawn in. You can capture other artifacts in other bases in the area, but you will not be able to use them.

Rewards for Sunday's siege beta participation and previous participation will be delivered via in-game mail the following Wednesday after the maintenance. With your help and feedback, we'll be making changes and adjustments to Panesterra and opening additional inter-server content soon!

- How to Play -

The Upgrade Arcade can be accessed by clicking the smiling Shugo icon on the lower right corner of your screen. Use this icon to play, browse the prize list, or check out the Help guide.

To play, you’ll need an Arcade Token. One Arcade Token is consumed each time you begin playing at level 1, and will last until you claim a prize. This means it’s possible for you to get to Upgrade Level 8 on one token!

Click Play to start the mini-game and you'll see the weapon on the screen change before you. Subsequently by clicking Play, you will continue to upgrade the weapon and the Upgrade Level. There is a chance to fail at each upgrade level so play wisely!If you want to claim your prize, click Reward and a random item from the tier's prize list will be placed in your inventory.

If your upgrade fails at Upgrade Level 6 or higher, you have two choices. You can claim your level 1 prize, or you can click the Resume option to spend two tokens and regain your place! The Resume icon lights up to let you know it can be used, but can only be used once per play.

As you play the Upgrade Arcade, you will notice the Frenzy Meter filling up. Every token you use to play or resume will fill up the bar. Once the bar is full, Frenzy Mode begins and you have 90 seconds of boosted upgrade chances and additional Frenzy Rewards! Click away!

- Where to Get Arcade Tokens -

There are a few ways for you to get tokens for the Upgrade Arcade.

1. A survey will be available at level 30+ for (1) Arcade Token.
2. A quest will be available at level 50+ for (3) Arcade Tokens. You will need an [Event] Lucky Token to begin this quest. The Lucky Token is delivered automatically to the special cube of characters level 50 or above after ten minutes of play time. Once you have clicked on the Lucky Token, simply follow the quest instructions.
3. Prestige Pack holders will receive (2) Arcade Tokens via survey each Arcade Event week.
4. Arcade Tokens are available as prizes from the mystical Shugo Kingdom Adventure.
5. Arcade Tokens can also be purchased individually or as a bundle from the in-game shop or web store. 

- Rewards -

The rewards can be viewed in the Upgrade Arcade menu and are distributed randomly from the upgrade tier you end on. Remember, you can claim your reward at any time. If you want that prize at Upgrade Level 6 without risking a failure on your next attempt, hit the Rewards button to claim it right away. Keep in mind that if your upgrade fails and you do not resume playing, through choice or lack of tokens, you will only get a prize from Upgrade Level 1.

There have been four Panesterra beta sieges since the launch of INVASION. During the seiges we've been collecting feedback and reviewing the results of the test period. This Sunday, December 7, 2014 there will be no Panesterra beta siege. The entrance portals will not spawn and access to the zone will not be available. We will be using the period to reset the Panesterra fortresses and make adjustments for the next live beta phase!

The Panesterra siege will resume on Sunday, December 14, 2014. This will be the start of phase two of the live beta. In phase 2, the conquering faction will have access to explore the conquered area during non-siege hours and the ultimate siege, Ahserion’s Flight, will be in play.

Panesterra Zone Access

Once the fortresses of all the zones in Panesterra are conquered, the zone access opens up for the entire conquering faction to explore and complete quests.

Ahserion’s Flight

Immediately after the Panesterra siege, Ahserion’s Flight siege will become available to the 400 conquering contenders of the four Panesterra fortresses. In this siege, it is 100v100v100v100. It is a race to reach and defeat Ahersion, whom Beritra is trying to ascend to be the next Dragon Lord.

Phase two of the Panesterra inter-server siege live beta testing starts on Sunday, December 14 at 7 PM Central. All Panesterra fortresses have been reset and the battle to claim the fortress will decide who has access to explore the zone and who moves on to battle the to-be Dragon Lord, Ahserion.

The changes and additions to inter-server beta phase two includes:

• -    Fortress defense will be more difficult once a fortress is taken.
• -    Panesterra zone exploration will be available to the conquering server faction.
• -    Ahserion’s Flight siege will begin immediately after the Panesterra siege.

Panesterra Zone Access

After the Panesterra fortresses have been conquered, the conquering server faction will have access to the fortress and zone. A portal will spawn in the capital city for the appropriate fortress access. Quests for the zone can be picked up from the fortress and zone exploration will be available.

While the zone and fortress can be directly accessed by the server faction that owns it, those who have access to the other fortresses can also move between the zones (with some maneuvering) so be watchful as Panesterra is an open PvP zone where all other factions are your enemy!

Ahserion’s Flight

Beritra has been working on getting Ahserion ascended as the next Dragon Lord. With all the Ide in Panesterra, there is no better a place to achieve that. Ahserion’s ascension will take place in Panesterra amidst the all-out war between Daevas.

Immediately, after the Pantesterra fortress sieges, Ahserion’s Flight will become available. The siege is only open to those who hold the Panesterra Conqueror title and the title must be worn to enter. You will have 10 minutes to prep and enter from the portal spawned in the fortress. Here you will battle three other server factions for the title and reward from Ahserion.

While in Ahserion’s Flight, it is possible to eliminate a server faction from the siege entirely. For every server faction, a shield will spawn that must be protected by Daevas at all costs. Protect your shield while attempting to take down your enemies’ shield. The destruction of the shield will result in the immediate removal of the server faction that was supposed to protect it.

The siege will take a total of 70 minutes from start to end. You will still need to protect your shield when you battle with Ahserion. If you defeat Ahserion, he will drop a reward box that includes various items. Collect the reward box as soon as possible because once that timer reaches 70 minutes or your server faction is forced to exit the siege, you will be returned to your bind point with the rewards or not.
