Aion's 6th Anniversary is rapidly approaching, and we want to celebrate with you. We've had a great year and on September 22nd, we'll be joining you in game to celebrate with cakes, monsters and buffs. 

On September 22nd, log on to your characters and look out for members of the Aion team. On each server and faction, we'll be spawning cakes, summoning monsters, and giving out cake buffs to top it all off.

Come one, come all, to the Upgrade Arcade! Try your luck by upgrading an on-screen weapon to the next level.  At certain Upgrade Levels, you will unlock different prizes including Stigma Bundles, Aether Glider wings, and the all-new Quick Frillneck mount!  Step right up! Don’t be shy – we’ll even give you a free try!

- How to Play -

The Upgrade Arcade can be accessed by clicking the smiling Shugo icon on the lower right corner of your screen. Use this icon to play, browse the prize list, or check out the Help guide.

To play, you’ll need an Arcade Token. One Arcade Token is consumed each time you begin playing at level 1, and will last until you claim a prize. This means it’s possible for you to get to Upgrade Level 8 on one token!

Click Play to start the mini-game and you'll see the weapon on the screen change before you. Subsequently by clicking Play, you will continue to upgrade the weapon and the Upgrade Level. There is a chance to fail at each upgrade level so play wisely!If you want to claim your prize, click Reward and a random item from the tier's prize list will be placed in your inventory.

If your upgrade fails at Upgrade Level 6 or higher, you have two choices. You can claim your level 1 prize, or you can click the Resume option to spend two tokens and regain your place! The Resume icon lights up to let you know it can be used, but can only be used once per play.

As you play the Upgrade Arcade, you will notice the Frenzy Meter filling up. Every token you use to play or resume will fill up the bar. Once the bar is full, Frenzy Mode begins and you have 90 seconds of boosted upgrade chances and additional Frenzy Rewards! Click away!

- Where to Get Arcade Tokens -

There are a few ways for you to get tokens for the Upgrade Arcade.

1. A survey will be available for players level 30+ for (1) Arcade Token. One survey per server per account.
2. Prestige Badge holders will receive an additional (2) Arcade Token via survey each week of the event.
3. Arcade Tokens can also be purchased individually or as a bundle from the in-game shop or web store.

- Rewards -

The rewards can be viewed in the Upgrade Arcade menu and are distributed randomly from the upgrade tier you end on. Remember, you can claim your reward at any time. If you want that prize at Upgrade Level 6 without risking a failure on your next attempt, hit the Rewards button to claim it right away. Keep in mind that if your upgrade fails and you do not resume playing, through choice or lack of tokens, you will only get a prize from Upgrade Level 1.

Festival planner Octobrunerk is preparing for the upcoming beer festival, Octoberfest. He has invited the top three Brewmasters to Sanctum and Pandaemonium to come to the festival and promised a big reward to the one who can brew the best beer. While not persuaded by the the festival or the promise of reward, the Brewmasters were intrigued by the chance to compete against each other and determine once and for all whose beer is best. 

- How to Participate - 

Phase One: Harvesting Barley (October 7 to October 21)

During the event, you can speak to NPC Octobrunerk to receive a daily quest to collect 20 Fresh Barley which can be found in world and instance drops.

You'll be rewarded 1 Dried Barley and 5 Lite Beers for completing the quest. The Lite Beer will recover 5% of your Energy of Repose and the Dried Barley can be used at one of three Brewmasters to purchase a claim ticket. Spend your Dried Barley wisely, since the Brewmaster you choose will determine your rewards based on their ranking in the contest.

This daily quest is repeatable only during Phase One with a maximum of 14 claim tickets.

Phase Two: The Contest Winner (October 21 to November 4)

During  the three Brewmasters will now offer prizes in exchange for the claim tickets earned during Phase One. The prizes offered will differ based on their ranking and claim tickets can only be redeemed at the Brewmaster they came from originally. We recommend going with one Brewmaster to maximize your rewards.

- Location - 

Event NPCs can be found in Pandaemonium for Asmodians and Sanctum for Elyos.

- Rewards - 

Once Phase Two starts on October 21, one of the Brewmasters (Eimaj, Reklov, or Nitram) will be declared the victor. Each Brewmaster will offer various rewards for the appropriate claim tickets. You can also purchase the victor's winning claim ticket on the store if an item catches your fancy.

From the victorious Brewmaster, you can pick up the [Event] Winner's Thank-you Gift for 12 claim tickets. The box includes:

Having captured the Queen of Faeries Yume and intending to harness her power for himself, Heiramune continues his plot to invade Atreia. With Yume's ability to make dreams into reality, Heiramune intends to harness that power in order to cross realms and bring with him his Nightmare Circus. Treasure and reward await any Daeva brave and strong enough to face Heiramune and save Yume. 

- Instance Information -

• Duration: October 21 through November 4, 2015
• Dungeon Name: Nightmare Circus
• Players: 2-6 Required
• Level: 30+
• Re-entry Time: Once a day and bonus scrolls are also available from the store.
• Where: Sanctum, Pandaemonium

- How to Participate -

To help save Yume, you must be at least level 30 with a minimum group of two players. Yume’s faerie friends are available in Pandaemonium or Sanctum. Speak to them to start the Nightmare Circus instance. The fairies have asked the Daevas for help, and to hide your identity, you will be transformed into a Khum’gom, a bear-like creature. As a Khum’gom, your regular attack skills will not work; you will be given five preset skills including a healing spell. To become even stronger, you can transform into a Nightmare Circus Harlequin. The Harlequin transformations are available via an in-game quest. Additional ones can be purchased on the store.

- Location -

Dungeon entrances located in the capital cities, Pandaemonium and Sanctum.

- Stage One -

Once you’ve transformed into a Khum’gom or a Harlequin, you can start the instance by attempting to break the cage lock holding Yume captive. Monsters will come down the three gates and circle the cage. You must defeat these monsters before the first boss, Mistress Viloa, spawns or you’ll have to fight them while she is there. Viloa will only appear for a short time so defeat her and grab the keys she drops!

- Stage Two -

When Mistress Viloa is defeated or despawns, she summons the second boss, Harlequin Lord Reshka. Upon appearance, he will spawn boxes which contain monsters that he can use. Destroy the boxes to stop Reshka from using them. Make sure you defeat Reshka before he despawns, or you won’t get any key from him to use later.

- Stage Three -

Nightmare Lord Heiramune, the final boss, will appear once Reshka is defeated or has despawned. Heiramune must be defeated to rescue Yume and will not despawn. During the fight, he will summon nightmare creatures and a phantom of himself, which will cast healing spells, to aid him.

Once Heiramune is defeated, Yume will be freed from her cage and her faerie friends will join in to thank you. The Nightmare Crates will spawn and players can open the crates with keys dropped or purchased from the store. A normal Nightmare Crate requires one key to open while the Greater Nightmare Crates need three.

Now that you've completed the instance you can run it again with a bonus scroll or wait until the instance cooldown resets the next day. Bonus scrolls are also available in the store to reset the cooldown timer.

- Rewards -

These are the prizes available from the Nightmare Crates. The keys drop from the bosses after you defeat them. Mistress Viloa and Grand Lord Reshka will both guarantee a drop of two keys and they have a chance to drop additional keys. Nightmare Lord Heiramune will drop one key. Party members must roll for each key so set the ground rules for looting and rolling on the keys. If you want to open more crates, keys can also be acquired through the store.

Normal Nightmare Crate (Requires 1 key to open)

Greater Nightmare Crate (Requires 3 keys to open)

The Greater Nightmare Crate has a higher chance to give the Dreamer's Reward. The Dreamer's Bundle may contain the following:

- Event Tips-

1. While the minimum group entry requirement is 2, we highly recommend you taking a full party!
2. The mobs will not attack until they are alerted of your presence. Be careful and avoid accidentally training the mobs on your group because they will hurt!
3. For even more HP and powerful attacks, you can use a Harlequin transformation when you enter the instance.
4. Yume will heal you every few seconds if you're near her cage so consider fighting monsters near her.
5. Try to take down as many mobs as possible before the first boss, Mistress Viloa, spawns or you’ll end up fighting her and a horde of monsters.
6. The Stage One boss, Mistress Viloa, and the Stage Two boss, Grand Lord Reshka, will despawn if they aren’t defeated in the allotted time.
7. When fighting Heiramune, designate certain group members to fight the Mammoths and Phantom Heiramune. Take down Phantom Heiramune as soon as you can, as he can heal the Nightmare Lord Heiramune.

Today we have added a brand new server, named Beritra, that is open and available to all players. Along with our relaunch on Steam today, this new server is a great place to experience the excitement of levelling along-side both veteran and new players.

The addition of this new server will provide a place for new or returning players to level and learn the game, while also providing a place for veteran players to start fresh if they desire.

With the addition of new players coming in from Steam, we’ve bumped up the XP bonus on the Fast-Track Server and Standard Server. If you have friends wanting to start Aion or you’ve been wanting to level an alternate character, now is a great time to start!

- Fast Track Server-

All through November on the FTS, you'll be able to reap the benefits of bonus EXP from killing monsters. Remember, the FTS now allows players to stay on the server unti level 60. The increase bonus EXP is in effect from November 4, 2015 until December 2, 2015.

-Standard Server-

Bonus EXP rates for the Standard Server is only available on the weekends. Use this opportunity to gain the last few levels to 65. Standard Server Bonus EXP weekends are 12:00 AM Central on Saturday until 11:59 PM Cental on Sunday on the follow days:

1. November 7 to November 8
2. November 14 to November 15
3. November 21 to November 22
4. November 28 to November 29

All EXP boost items will stack with the increased rates and you can get them from the Black Cloud Marketplace.

Our latest free update for Aion: Upheaval is now live!

The update contains changes to the Abyss and Panesterra, quality of life upgrades, and plenty of new gear for players to collect.  There are plenty of other changes as well, so be sure to read the 4.9 patch notes when the update goes live.  For now, here is a brief rundown of a few major changes.

The Abyss:

In the aftermath of your battle with Beritra, whispers have begun to surface of the return of the Ereshkigal Legion.  Detecting this new movement in the Upper Abyss, the Elyos and Asmodians have constructed Landings, advance fortifications to carry out aggressive strikes against the Balaur.

The Abyss has gone through some pretty big changes.  The Core has been sealed away and is no longer accessible, a new group of islands has emerged in the Lower Abyss which will serve as a Level 46+ hunting ground, and the Upper Abyss is how home to 16 new bases and 2 new factional landings.  The bases begin occupied by either the Ereshkigal or Beritra Legions and reside in both the inner and outer sections.  There are also 4 artifacts among them for players to control and use.

Panesterra:

Daevas of all ranks can now enter Panesterra if there are not enough entries by the top 1000 ranked individuals.  Maximum entrants remains at 100.

Sealed Argent Manor:

Sealed Argent Manor is a new level 65 solo instance that can be accessed through Territory Villages in Cygnea and Enshar.

Gear:

New Mythic PvP gear and Mythic Daevanion gear can now be acquired.  The PvP gear can be acquired with Blood Marks and a new item, Blood Medals, while the Daevanion gear can be crafted.

Amplification:

Amplification Tools and Stones are no longer required to enchant past maximum level.  Remaining Tools can be sold back to vendors at their purchase cost and Amplification Stones will be exchanged for Omega Enchantment stones at a 1:1 ratio.

Changes are coming to the Prestige Pack! Very soon, we'll be updating the Prestige Pack with new rewards and benefits, along with extending these rewards past 18 months. For those already subscribed to the Prestige Pack, your rewards will roll over directly in to the new system. That means no starting over at month 1.

Today, we're excited to talk a bit about what will be changing. 

Prestige Badges

With this update, Prestige Badges will be retired and instead players will now receive a Prestige Pass. The Pass is a consumable item that applies to your entire account. With the new Prestige Pass, you'll no longer have to choose which character you want to receive the rewards or purchase multiple Prestige Packs to reap the benefits on multiple characters.

Benefits (Good for 30 days)

• *Bonus Instance Entries (identical to and does not stack with the Instance Entry Boost Pack)
• *Earn Prestige Coins for being logged in
• *Bonus Seige Rewards:
• *Extra Medals
• *15% bonus to GP earned via fortress seiges only
• *Access to Special NPCs and quests

Prestige Coins

The rate at which Prestige Coins are earned will also be changing. 

1. 30 Coins will be earned within 10 minutes of logging in.
2. 20 Coins will be earned every hour for the first three hours after logging in.
3. Coins can also be found by hunting monsters in the field and in instances.

As before, Prestige Coins can be redeemed for a variety of items, but the list has been completely revamped. By visiting the Prestige Society Vending Machine you can take your pick from exclusive costumes, mounts, pets, and other items. 

Rewards and NPCs

Throughout Atreia, special NPCs belonging to the Prestige Society will be spawned that provide benefits to players with an active Prestige Pass. There are quests for characters level 10 and above that grant a variety of gear and other items, including the Prestige Wings.

The Buffatron 9000 is available to grant a 5% movement speed buff and a 10% drop increase buff for 24 hours.

Because the prices are being scaled higher, all Prestige Coins currently in the world will be multiplied by 8.For example, if you currently have 40 Prestige Coins, those will be exchanged for 40 bundles of 8 Prestige Coins each (320 Coins total).

Monthly Bonus Rewards

We’re also making the monthly rewards more convenient for different play styles. Instead of receiving Ceramium Medals and Ancient Crowns, you'll be given a choice of items. The Medals and Crowns will still be available, just alongside a variety of items to choose from.

Because they are being moved to a quest reward, the 6-month Prestige Wing reward will be replaced by a brand new title, Prestigious Initiate. If you've previously received the Prestige Wings, the Prestigious Initiate title will be mailed to you within one week of the update.
